Ly Nguyen, former MRM, Saatchi and George P.Johnson alum is now joining the Movement Strategy family as SVP, Executive Creative Director.
Here is what she told us about being part of this exciting chapter for Movement Strategy and for her:
How do you feel about joining the Movement Strategy team?
I’m thrilled to be joining the team during a time of rapid growth. The future of digital and social media is limitless, and I can’t wait to see how we make an impact in the space.
What are your future goals with Movement Strategy? How do you plan to achieve them?
From an operational standpoint, I plan to bring rigor to the agency as we continue to scale. From a creative standpoint, I hope to push the boundaries of multi-platform social and digital campaigns, elevate immersive and personalized content, and create deep connections with communities that spark conversations.
To start, the most important thing we’ll need to do is set the foundation to accomplish this. We’ll do so by working together to build agency and department wide goals that we can all align to and tackle collaboratively. Shortly after, I’d like to focus on shifting the way we look at opportunities across new and existing businesses by leveraging our talent, expertise and foresight to inspire our clients to step outside of their comfort zones and advocate for cutting-edge creative.
How do you think this new chapter in Movement Strategy is going to benefit your professional and personal growth?
Leading a creative department in a space that’s fairly young allows us to push innovation and establish how Movement Strategy is differentiated from the rest. As early pioneers in the industry, we have the freedom to carve out what it means to be best-in-class and potentially even change the rules of business. For me, there is nothing more fulfilling than the ability to create something meaningful from the ground up.
Movement Strategy CEO Jason Mitchell describes you as “an amazing mentor and manager for creative talent”, what would you advise to the creatives of the industry out there that are going through any creative block?
I’d advise all creatives who are going through a rut to take a step back and reconnect with yourself. What is it that inspires you? Where do you feel the most uninhibited? Take a moment to go there, figuratively or literally. Nothing helps me mentally reset more than taking the time to remind myself what inspired me to be a creative in the first place.
Do you have any new projects coming soon that you’re excited about? Can you tell us something about it?
We have some exciting pitches in the pipeline that I of course cannot discuss. Otherwise, we’re in the midst of ramping up for a new and exciting year of work with our amazing clients. Hopefully you’ll see our work out in the wild soon!
We hope the same! Here at RoastBrief, we are so pleased that the Movement Strategy family is growing and knowing that it has an incredible and outstanding human being as Ly Nguyen, thank you for your time.
