Experiential marketing agency, Movement Strategy activated Wonder Woman as an icon of female empowerment.

01 — Summary

Movement Strategy built awareness and excitement around the DC Wonder Woman Run Series through utilizing a wide variety of social media marketing and PR tactics. With 5 runs in Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, San Diego, and Los Angeles plus 1 virtual run, we built buzz and momentum through national and local PR outreach, partnering with celebrities and influencers, and creating a social community to unite fans.

Movement Strategy led the charge to secure and leverage the press power of celebrity partners.

We teamed up with the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, to create a video asset for pitching along with an exclusive media interview.

To maximize PR value for a national audience in our biggest market of Los Angeles, Movement Strategy secured a partnership with Busy Philipps to come attend and run the race as well as provide exclusive media interviews.

Movement Strategy secured extensive coverage around these events including an Entertainment Tonight TV segment to interview Busy Philipps at the Los Angeles run, coverage within In Touch magazine, a home page article on Huffington Post in addition to garnering several local broadcast hits on KTLA, NBC4 News, Good Morning San Diego and ABC 10.

05 — Igniting Conversation

As the main hashtag of the DC Wonder Woman Run Series, #IAmWonderWoman became the primary driver of social conversation. We amplified #IAmWonderWoman to increase fan engagement before, during, and after each event.

We featured human interest stories of personal empowerment in email newsletters and social media through submissions from the run website and one-on-one interviews at each event.
